Ask the Pharmacist

I have a child with attention problems, what supplement for him?

Dear Isabella,

as a general premise, I recommend that you consider dietary supplements as a nutritional support with nutritional and physiological effects that promote the regular performance of the body's functions. Based on what you have reported, the VitaDHA product in single-dose vials is the most suitable for your child; however, I recommend that you seek the advice of your pediatrician or specialist. As a rule, children with attention deficit or hyperactivity disorder find benefit from consuming DHA, an omega-3 that performs important structural functions at the level of the nervous system and retina, as also reported at some articles published on our blog.

Some studies, moreover, have shown that children with these kinds of issues often show low amounts of DHA. The oil contained in VitaDHA can be taken as is from the vial itself, or poured onto a teaspoon because it is free of fishy odor/flavor and flavored with lemon, or it can be added to yogurt, spreadable cheese or smoothies.

The recommended dosage is 1 vial per day, for a period of at least 2 months. I remain available for further information.

Sincerely,

Rosaria Ramondino Pharmacist and Pharmaceutical Chemist
