Omega-3 for breast cancer

Omega-3s also play a preventive role against some forms of cancer, especially breast and colon cancer.

Women who consume high amounts of the fatty acids in fish oil reduce their risk of developing breast cancer by as much as 50 percent, recent scientific findings show.

In particular, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), due to its natural anti-inflammatory properties, blocks the transformation of cells in a cancerous direction and kills neoplastic cells.

Other studies suggest that uterine cancer and forms affecting the epidermis may also be counteracted by high levels of these fatty acids.
