Omega-3 DHA: if nature is not enough...

Omega 3 DHA

Who wouldn't want more fluidity and flexibility for their brain's nerve membranes? Well, the element responsible for all of this is DHA, or Docosahexanoic acid or-with a 19th-century term-cervonic acid, precisely because it is very much present in the brain.

Acronyms important for our health, but we don't always manage to take in the correct amounts

Normally DHA can be synthesized by the human body if the human body takes in alpha linoleic acid (ALA) with some food, but--as in bad soccer teams--WHA is scarce in our current diet, and what's more, its conversion is not always perfect. The risk of having low DHA levels is high for the Western lifestyle--but if you're an adult--do what you will. In the growing period of children, however, when the brain is forming, it is especially important topay attention to a healthy, balanced diet rich in DHA, which also has beneficial effects on visual acuity and cognitive processing, among other things.
