Dry eye syndrome: can omega-3s help?

Dear Emma,

the combination of omega-3 and omega-6, as shown by several clinical studies conducted in patients with dry eye syndrome, can reduce the symptoms of this condition.

The beneficial action is due to their potent anti-inflammatory activity and ability to increase the ocular lipid layer and thus reduce dryness. For these reasons, I recommend that you try dietary supplementation with Omegor TwinEFA, a product based on omega-3 fatty acids extracted from fish oil, omega-6 (gamma linoleic acid) from borage oil, and vitamin E, a natural antioxidant.

The capsules can be swallowed with water or chewed, as the oil contained has a pleasant orange aroma. The recommended intake is 1 or 2 capsules per day at a meal. In case of overdose, the product may, only rarely, cause digestive upset, which can be resolved by reducing the dosage or temporarily discontinuing the supplement.
