Psoriasis remedies: are omega-3s helpful?

I am suffering from psoriasis. I have resumed treatment after a certain period of discontinuation (prescribed by my dermatologist). I have a problem: Psorinv Vleriana, one of the medicines, is no longer commercially available. My pharmacist recommended Omega-3 tablets as an alternative. Are they okay? Is there something morespecific and better?

Dear Don Gianni,

Your pharmacist's advice is absolutely correct. The anti-inflammatory activity of Omega-3 and Omega-6 are an effective weapon against psoriasis. The action of these fatty acids allows reduced levels of proinflammatory eicosanoids (hormone-acting molecules that regulate the inflammatory response) in favor of milder-acting ones, leading to:

  • A progressive decrease in the inflammatory response;
  • gradual improvement.

I recommend that you take 3 pearls daily for at least 2 months of Omegor Twinefa, a synergistic formulation of Omega-3 (EPA and DHA) and Omega-6 (GLA). The pearls should be taken before a main meal, in a single serving or even at different times of the day depending on your needs. You may puncture the pearls if you have difficulty swallowing and take the oil individually. Thank you for contacting us and I remain available for further questions.

Sincerely,

Dr. Rosaria Ramondino Pharmacist and Pharmaceutical Chemist
