Ask the Pharmacist

What supplement can reduce acne in a 30-year-old woman?

I would like to ask which supplement is best for an acne-prone face of a 30-year-old woman.

Dear Milena,

Omega-3s help maintain healthy skin, especially in the case of conditions where sebum secretion is impaired, such as acne. To improve your problem, I recommend supplementing your diet with two products: Omegor Antiage e Omegor TwinEFA.

Omegor Antiage is a dietary supplement based on Omega-3 EPA and DHA and Omega-6 gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) from borage oil; it also contains curcumin, resveratrol, vitamin E, vitamin B12, lipoic acid and coenzyme Q10. Borage oil, extracted from the seeds of a plant, Borago officinalis, is rich in GLA, which facilitates skin trophism; extracts of Curcuma longa and Polygonum cuspidatum contain Curcumin and Resveratrol, respectively, two substances with strong antioxidant properties. Vitamin E, lipoic acid, and coenzyme Q 10 due to their ability to counteract free radicals also make this supplement particularly suitable for combating oxidative stress and skin aging.

Omegor TwinEFA is a dietary supplement that contains high amounts of EPA and DHA as well as GLA, a combination that provides a remarkable anti-inflammatory effect that is useful in combating acne lesions, which are due precisely to bacterial inflammation of the pilo sebaceous follicles. The anti-inflammatory activity combined with antioxidant activity will be able to promote skin trophism and improve the symptoms of the condition. To learn more about the effects of the substances described on acne, I recommend that you read this article published on our Blog. I also recommend that you eat a balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables and consume, if you can, at least two servings of fish per week.
