Ask the Pharmacist

Is the oil in Vitality in esterified or triglyceride form?

I would like to know whether the oil is in esterified or triglyceride form. Whether you can buy it in pharmacies or online. I follow the zone diet and drink the related oil from Enervit. Is there a difference as a concentration from yours? Wanting to take 2.5 grams of the oil, how many capsules should I take per day? Thank you very much

Dear Lorenzo,

Omegor Vitality is a very pure and concentrated supplement in which the Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA are found in the form of re-esterified triglycerides (rTG). In the product she currently uses, they are found in the form of ethyl esters (EE).

Several scientific studies have shown that rTGs are absorbed 50 to 100% better than EEs. A recent study by Dyerberg J., the author who first demonstrated the benefits of Omega-3s for cardiovascular disease (Plasma lipids and lipoproteins in Greenlandic west coast Eskimos. Acta Med Scand 1972;192(1-2): 85-94) showed conclusively that Omega-3s in rTG form are better absorbed than those in EE form by 76%.You can see the study at this link.

A daily intake of 2.5 grams of EPA and DHA fatty acids is recommended for the zone diet: a dose of 3 to 4 pearls of Omegor Vitality 1000 per day meets this requirement. 3 pearls contain 1.89 grams of EPA+DHA (630 milligrams per pearl), which is equivalent to about 3.213 grams of EPA+DHA compared to products in EE form.

Our products can be found in all pharmacies and parapharmacies. Our Omega-3 intergrators can also be purchased online: this way you will be sure to receive the freshest product batch. I remain at your disposal for any clarifications.

Best regards
