Ask the Pharmacist

What is the amount of DHA in your supplements?

Dear Rita,

Our VitaDHA product is a premium quality docosahexaenoic acid supplement, DHA PlusTM, in highly assimilable natural triglyceride form.

In each single-dose sachet, he finds 1,250 milligrams of DHA and 360 milligrams of EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) in a lemon-flavored liquid formulation. supplementation with theomega-3 fatty acid DHA is particularly indicated in his condition, as it is present in high concentration in the very membranes of the retinal rods.

Researchers at Harvard Medical School in Boston have tested the use of DHA in a group of patients with retinitis pigmentosa. The results show that supplementation with DHA, in combination with vitamin A, slows both the course of retinitis pigmentosa and the decline in visual field sensitivity. You can view the retinitis pigmentosa study in full format at this page.

The dosage is 1 sachet daily, to be taken singly or added to white yogurt, preferably before the main meal (to promote better absorption of the active ingredients). I remain available for further clarification.

Sincerely. Dr. Rosaria Ramondino Pharmacist and Pharmaceutical Chemist
