What drug interactions with Cardiol?

Dear Sir,

Before talking about the possible interactions between drugs and supplements, I would like to answer your question about how to take Cardiol. Both directions are correct, so you can choose which one to follow. Consider, however, that takingCardiol in the evening just before dinner may increase the effectiveness ofCardiol. Cardiol is a dietary supplement made from fermented red rice, a plant extract that is a source of monacolin K. Monacolin K is a natural statin, and like all statins it works by blocking the synthesis of cholesterol that occurs at night in liver cells. Therefore, taking monacolin K from red rice in the evening hours allows for a better effect on cholesterol values: this is why it is preferable to take the Cardiol capsule in the evening. As for drug interactions with Cardiol, just to avoid possible interactions with Dimalose Complex my advice is to:

  • Spacing the administrations at least one and a half to two hours apart;
  • or, alternatively, Dimalose Complex could also be taken close to lunch, if that is not a problem for you.

I remain available for clarification.

Cordially,
