Ask the Pharmacist

I suffer from hypertension, which product can help me?

Dear Daniel,

Omega-3 fatty acids are a valuable adjunctive therapy to prevent and control hypertension.

Several studies have shown that supplementation with fish oil rich in Omega-3 helps combat it. In fact, these polyunsaturated fatty acids allow:

  • Improve triglyceride concentrations;
  • Hinder thrombus formation;
  • Reduce platelet aggregation;
  • Regulate the dilation of blood vessels.

EFSA, the European Food Safety Authority, has approved the consumption of 3 grams per day of EPA and DHA to normalize blood pressure values in adults. The product I recommend is Omegor Vitality 1000, a very pure and concentrated Omega-3 fatty acid supplement. Each pearl of Vitality contains 420 milligrams of EPA and 210 milligrams of DHA in the form of highly assimilable and digestible natural triglycerides. The EFSA-recommended amount of EPA+DHA corresponds to 4 pearls of Vitality per day, to be taken before a main meal to better promote absorption and digestibility of the product. Of course, inform your attending physician of any dietary arrangements (diets, nutritional supplements, and others) you plan to make. I remain available for further questions on this matter.

Sincerely.
