Anxiety remedies: are omega-3s helpful?
Good morning, I suffer from very high anxiety and would like to know if Omega-3s could help me, as I am constantly taking anti-anxiety drugs. Thank you
Dear Patricia,
A diet deficient in omega-3 fatty acids has been associated in humans with an increased risk of developing the following diseases:
- attention disorders;
- mood disorders;
- Thought disorders;
- anxiety states.
Many scientific studies highlight the positive effect of Omega-3 supplementation in these particular conditions.
The action of these fatty acids is related to EPA and DHA 's ability to regulate the production of the neurotransmitters dopamine and serotonin, promoting mood balance, calm and coordination. EPA also modulates the production of inflammatory prostaglandins that appear to be implicated in states of anxiety and depression.
The product I recommend is Omegor Vitality 1000, a highly concentrated and purified supplement of Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA in the form of triglycerides, the one that our body assimilates most easily. 2-3 pearls per day is the effective Omega-3 dose in this type of disorder, taken in 1 or 2 different solutions before a meal.
You should notice a gradual improvement after 4 weeks of supplementation. However, I recommend that you talk to your primary care physician, and inform him or her of your choice to startOmega-3 fatty acid supplementation in conjunction with other drug therapies.
Sincerely,
