Hepatic steatosis: do omega-3s help counteract it?

Good morning. My cousin read that Omega 3 is also good for liver steatosis. Is this true? In what dosage? Thank you.

Dear Richard,

I confirm that in a condition such as liver steatosis, omega-3 EPA and DHA can be a useful support. DHA in particular, can have significant effects on liver metabolism, protecting against the effects of a diet high in saturated fats and carbohydrates, and the risk of metabolic diseases.

At this link you can find two articles published in our blog showing the results of studies conducted specifically on omega-3 supplementation in subjects with hepatic steatosis. The recommended dose of omega-3 EPA + DHA in cases of steatosis is 2-3 grams per day. This amount corresponds to about 3-4 capsules of the product Omegor Vitality 1000, taken just before or with meals.

Sincerely,
