Ask the Pharmacist

I would like to take Cardiol and Vitality to reduce cholesterol. Is this possible? If so, what are the optimal combinations?

Dear Edward,

the Omega-3 EPA and DHA content of 1 pearl of Cardiol is 500 milligrams, while a pearl of Omegor Vitality 1000 contains at least 630 milligrams of EPA and DHA. The combination of the 2 products is desirable precisely to increase the daily intake of Omega-3. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration considers dosages of up to 3 grams of EPA and DHA safe.

For higher daily dosages, it is advisable to refer to your health care professional. The a of Omega-3 EPA and DHA equal at least 500 milligrams. In an adult subject with a moderate degree of physical training, an intake of at least 1,600 milligrams of EPA and DHA is recommended, so I recommend that you take 1 pearl of Cardiol and 2 pearls of Omegor Vitality 1000 so that you arrive at a daily intake of 1760 milligrams of Omega-3 EPA and DHA. In cases of elevated triglyceride levels he can go up to 3 pearls per day of Omegor Vitality. If on the advice of your doctor you increase the dose of Cardiol to 2 pearls, you can combine up to 2 pearls of Omegor Vitality.

I remain available for further information.

Sincerely,

Dr. Rosaria Ramondino
