Ask the Pharmacist

Are there Omega-3 supplements to improve mood?

Dear Martina,

since you have not provided me with much information, I propose several solutions:

  • VitaDHA
  • Omegor Twinefa
  • Omegor Krill

VitaDHA

VitaDHA is a high-DHA supplement available in convenient single-dose sachets that preserve freshness and flavor over time. The oil is purified and deodorized with a pleasant lemon flavor. Each sachet contains 1250 mg of DHA and 360 mg of EPA. This high dosage of DHA in its natural triglyceride form, the most stable and digestible form, is particularly good for improving nerve transmission and central production of important eicosanoids. Eicosanoids are mediators of the production of the neurotransmitters dopamine and serotonin, the balance of which influences a person's emotional state. It also makes it possible to reduce inflammation, which in some cases is subclinical and manifests itself through disorders of various kinds:

  • headache
  • malaise
  • dry skin
  • disorders of the digestive system
  • anxiety
  • depression

Can take half a sachet a day or 1 whole sachet every other day. The oil can be taken individually or added to yogurt, white or citrus. To avoid any possible aftertaste, it is best to store the sachets in the freezer.

Omegor Twinefa

Omegor Twinefa is a supplement based on fish oil, rich in Omega-3, and borage oil, the source of Omega-6 GLA. Several scientific studies have shown that the combination of Omega-3 and Omega-6 is particularly useful for:

  • Ensure proper skin trophism;
  • Play an effective anti-inflammatory action;
  • Balancing mood.

The oil in the Twinefa pearls is deodorized and orange flavored, so it is very pleasant. You can puncture the pearls and take the contents individually or add it to yogurt, white or citrus. I recommend taking 2 pearls of Omegor Twinefa daily, preferably with a main meal.

Omegor Krill

Omegor Krill is a supplement based on pure krill lipid extract, indicated for states of mental and physical stress and to promote improved ability to concentrate.Krill oil is a complex of Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA in the form of phospholipids and the carotenoid Astaxanthin. It allows you to benefit from the preventive anti-inflammatory effect of Omega-3 as well as the powerful antioxidant action of Astaxanthin. The drawback here is that the product comes in capsules that cannot be opened. The dosage is 2 pearls per day to be taken before a meal. I hope I have been helpful and invite you to contact us again if you have any further questions on this matter.
