ADHD disorder: can Omegor Twinefa be used?

Hi. My 8-year-old boy is hyperactive with attention deficit disorder. I bought Omegor Twin Efa for him before I was well informed that the most suitable product for him is Vita DHA liquid. Omegor Twin Efa contains vitamin E 10 mg in 1 capsule. Could I give this product to my child and in what dose?

Dear Anyuta,

Often bambini affected by attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) show a deficiency of omega-3 DHA in the blood. DHA is, in fact, an essential component of the cell membranes of nerve cells and the retina and plays a key role in mediating processes that enable the transmission of signals between neurons. Since you have purchased it, you can safely use Omegor Twinefa while supplies last.

Each capsule of Omegor Twinefa contains 525 milligrams of DHA, 1050 of EPA, 90 milligrams of gamma linoleic acid from borage oil, and 30 milligrams d vitamin E. The orange flavoring makes the product easy to chew, but if your child has trouble with the size of the capsules, you can puncture them and take out only the liquid and possibly mix it with a cold strawberry or banana yogurt.

The recommended dose is 2 capsules per day. For your next purchase, I recommend that you evaluate with your child's pediatrician VitaDHA 1000, a capsule dietary supplement. A rich, concentrated docosahexaenoic acid (DHA Plus) formula derived from purified fish oil and deodorized by multiple molecular distillation. VitaDHA 1000 's DHA Plus is highly bioavailable because it is in the form of natural triglyceride, a structure easily assimilated by the body. I recommend 2-3 capsules per day of VitaDHA 1000 before a main meal.

If your son then cannot swallow the capsules, I recommend a viable alternative in liquid form with the same characteristics in terms of content, VitaDHA liquid. VitaDHA liquid contains an even purer and more natural fish oil produced by a refining process that preserves as much of the oil's natural form as possible, keeps it stable for longer, and gives it a neutral taste. In addition, lemon flavor has been added to the formulation.

I recommend one vial every other day of liquid VitaDHA before a main meal or it can be added to cold foods such as yogurt or spreadable cheese.

I remind you not to consider dietary supplements as a therapy, but only as nutritional support.

Sincerely,

Silvia Lisciani Ph.D. Nutrition biologist
