Omega-3 for a 12-month-old baby: is it the right choice?

Dear Stefania,

your pediatrician is right in saying that it is right to supplement your child's diet with Omega-3s, I would say especially with DHA.

In fact, it has been shown that adequate dietary intake of this fatty acid (Omega-3) promotes proper development of the central nervous system, as well as improved intellectual, visual and coordination skills in the child. The most appropriate formulation for your child is liquid VitaDHA, a deodorized solution with a high concentration of DHA (500 mg per 1 milliliter) and excellent digestibility (because it is in triglyceride form). VitaDHA is a supplement designed to be well tolerated by very sensitive individuals, such as pregnant women and pediatric children. The recommended dose is 1 to 3 milliliters per day, which can be mixed together with cold (as well as lukewarm) foods and drinks:

  • milk
  • fruit juices
  • creams
  • homogenized food

In this way, your child will benefit from the positive health effects of Omega-3s without suffering the sacrifice of having to swallow a formulation with an unpleasant taste and smell
