Which Omega-3 for soft plaque to the middle artery tract?

Hello, I am 51 years old, in excellent physical shape and health, regularly doing aerobic exercise. I spontaneously had a CORONARY CT scan. Result: SOFT PLACCA at middle anterior descending artery I ask you, can Omega-3 be enough for my situation? I hope to receive your answer, thank you.

Dear Emanuel,

the lifestyle and dietary regimen she followed are certainly correct and able to minimize cardiovascular risk factors. The blood values she reported are quite positive. Above all, the cardiovascular risk index obtained from the ratio of total cholesterol to HDL cholesterol is positive. In men this value must be less than 5: in her case it is 3.68.

Omega-3s are important nutrients for the proper functioning of the body. They especially influence the blood level concentration of HDL (promoting its increase) and triglycerides, effectively contributing to their decrease.

Omega-3 fatty acids are not particularly effective in reducing total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol. For this purpose, we developed Cardiol, which combines Omega-3 (450 mg/capsule) with fermented red rice, polycosanols and other active ingredients with greater specificity toward hypercholesterolemia. Fermented red rice contains monacolin K (3mg/capsule), a natural statin with a structure very similar to lovastatin.

Recent clinical studies have shown that combining fish oil with fermented red rice is effective in reducing cholesterol levels on par with prescription statins. Patients intolerant to statins have taken Cardiol with satisfactory results and no side effects. The other components in the formulation, such as bioflavonoids, policosanols, tocotrienols, and vitamin B3, work synergistically with fermented red rice by effectively promoting LDL cholesterol reduction.

I recommend that you talk to your doctor about the possibility of using Cardiol, perhaps at an early stage, and decide with him or her on the appropriate therapy. The recommended daily dose is 1 pearl, to be taken preferably before dinner and for a period of at least 8 weeks. After this first phase of supplementation, repeating the tests will show the effect of the treatment.

Instead, the maintenance dose of Omega-3 should be established through blood tests that keep track of her nutritional status, highlighting whether the amount of EPA and DHA she is taking in is sufficient to ensure an Omega-3 index above 8.

The Omega-3 index represents a measure of how many fatty acids are present in our body's cell membranes and, unlike other tests (e.g., Zona Test), gives an accurate assessment of an individual's nutritional status. This is because the concentration of Omega-3 measured on erythrocyte membranes is stable and is not affected by the diet of the days before the test.

U.G.A. Nutraceuticals has developed Omegor Test, a system that can provide measurement of the Omega-3 Index through capillary blood sampling: Omegor Test - The measure of one's well-being. I hope I have been helpful and remain available for any further information.

Sincerely.
