Ask the Pharmacist

I am pregnant, is VitaDHA Materna pure from contaminants?

Dear Madam,

In pregnancy, it is necessary to ingest only absolutely pure foods that are free of contaminants. Therefore, I feel I can assure you that VitaDHA Materna is an absolutely pure product that is recommended in pregnancy to support mothers and baby.

Although VitadHA Materna is not IFOS certified-the oil used in its production is pharmaceutical-grade , ultra-purified fish oil. The multiple molecular distillation process that the oil undergoes is the only process that can guarantee theabsolute absence of heavy metals, pesticides and other contaminants. I would like to inform you that our company, not only in its pregnancy products but in all its supplements, uses only fish oils of certified purity that conform to and exceed the rigorousstandardsGOED - Global Organization on EPA and DHA, of which we are a member - and the Council for Responsible Nutrition - CRN. In addition:

  • In VitaDHA batches, the presence of Mercury, Lead and Cadmium is well below the strictest standards currently in place, those of IFOS (≤ 0.1 ppm);
  • The presence of PCBs is also far below IFOS standards.

In short, VitaDHA Materna is a purer product than international standards require; she can take it during pregnancy without fear.

Features of VitaDHA Materna

VitaDHA Materna has in its formulation two indispensable ingredients for the pregnancy period:

  • 250 mg of pure Omega-3 DHA with high digestibility because it is in triglyceride form.
  • 400 mg of new generation folic acid as methylfolate salt of glucosamine. Methylfolate is the biologically active form of folic acid and is used by our bodies as is-unlike common folic acid, which must be metabolized and which 44% of women are unable to absorb.

I remain available for further information.

Sincerely,

Rosaria Ramondino Pharmacist and pharmaceutical chemist
