Ask the Pharmacist

Dry eye, yes to omega-3s. But which ones?

Hi, I need to take omega 3 supplements for 8 months because I suffer from dry eye. Which one do you recommend? If I take cardiol are there any contraindications? I am 29 years old and in good health. Thank you! Elizabeth

Dear Elizabeth,

For dry eye-also known as "dry eye syndrome"-I recommend dietary supplementation with Omegor TwinEFA, a supplement containing purified fish oil concentrated in omega-3 EPA and DHA and borage oil rich in omega-6 GLA.

The association between omega-3 and omega-6 exerts a powerful anti-inflammatory effect: several clinical studies have shown that this association may be able to significantly reduce the symptoms of dry eye-thanks to an increase in the lipid layer and a reduction in dry eye irritation.

How to take Omegor TwinEFA?

For dry eyes, I recommend a dosage of 1-2 capsules per day of Omegor TwinEFA to be taken with a meal, for a period of 3 to 6 months. Omegor TwinEFA is available in soft capsules, which contain a pleasant-tasting fish oil - deodorized and orange flavored. The capsules can be swallowed as is, but can also just be chewed, so that only the oil is swallowed and then the gelatin wrapper is discarded. I remain available for further information.

Sincerely,

Dr. Rosaria Ramondino Pharmacist and pharmaceutical chemist
