High cholesterol: what supplementation to avoid statin use?

Dear David,

I recommend that you evaluate with your treating physician the possibility of using a nutraceutical product such as Cardiol Forte as a first approach to controlling cholesterol levels in conjunction with a varied and balanced diet and a proper, healthy lifestyle.

The entire formulation of Cardiol Forte is designed to:- contribute to normal cardiac function (omega-3 EPA and DHA);- contribute to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels (monacolin K from fermented red rice);- protect blood lipids and cells from oxidative stress (olive tree polyphenols such as hydroxytyrosol and Vitamin E);- the regular functioning of homocysteine metabolism (vit. B12 and folic acid);- bridging Coenzyme Q10 deficiency that occurs during treatment with statins or statin-like drugs. The ingredient fermented red rice has the most specificity on cholesterol levels because it is a source of monacolin K a natural statin that helps maintain normal blood cholesterol levels at a dosage of 10 mg per day.

This effective dosage is contained in just one pearl of the product Cardiol Forte.

The recommended daily dose is 1 pearl per day to be taken in the evening just before dinner for a period of two months after which it is a good idea to repeat the routine analysis.I always recommend that you inform your treating physician of any choice to start dietary supplementation.

Sincerely,

Dr. Rosaria Ramondino Pharmacist and Pharmaceutical Chemist
