Ask the Pharmacist

For somewhat high cholesterol, what product do you recommend?

Dear Mr. M.,

The product best suited for maintaining normal cholesterol levels is Cardiol. Cardiol features in its formulation not only omega-3s but also fermented red rice, which is a source of monacolin K, a natural statin-like substance, and other plant extracts and components that act synergistically on various cardiovascular risk factors.

For example, Vitamins B6, B12, and folic acid important for proper metabolism of homocysteine, a secondary metabolite with damaging action on the vascular endothelium, are present in Cardiol. The recommended dose for Cardiol is 1 pearl daily taken just before dinner for a period of at least two months. After two months it would be advisable to redo a generalized check of all blood parameters to verify the effectiveness of the supplementation. The Cardiol product can be combined with 1-2 pearls of Omegor Vitality 1000 if you want to reduce elevated triglycerides.

I urge you to inform your treating physician, who knows your past history, of your choice to start dietary supplementation and to decide with him on the duration and periodicity of follow-ups best suited to your situation. I remain available for any further information.

Sincerely, Dr. Rosaria Ramondino Pharmacist and Pharmaceutical Chemist
